When Rama safely comes back again towards the city of Ayodhya, ruled by Ikshvaku kings I shall propitiate you by offering a thousand Cows and a hundred drinking vessels.
vrm.2.55 Seetha of excellent complexion thus praying with joined palms to Yamuna River, forthwith reached the southern side of the river.

vrm.7.79 And having spent seven nights he at last arived at the hermitage of the Rishis living on the banks of the Yamuna.
vrm.7.81 In the meantime having crossed the river Yamuna, the heroic Satrughna, with bow in his hands, stood at the gate of Madhu s city.
vrm.7.83 That city on the banks of Yamuna appeared beautiful like the half moon and was filled with yards, shops, streets beautiful houses, men of four orders and various articles of trade.
