vrm.5.37 Neither the Devas nor the Gandharvas nor the Bhujangas nor the Rakshasas are equal to Rama in combat.
vrm.5.38 "O Rama! Eventhough you are strong, excellently skilled in archery and a truthful man, why are you not utilizing your arrow on Rakshasas?" "Neither the Nagas or Gandharvas or Asuras nor the Maruts are able to resist the onrush of Rama in battle.
vrm.5.46 Devas, Asuras, Sages along with the Nagas, the Yakshas, the Gandharvas were conquered by my along with you all together.
vrm.5.51 "The renowned Rama, who is equal in prowess to Vishnu is the foremost among Devas or Asuras or men, or among hordes of Yakshas or among all Vidyadharas, or among Gandharvas or among Uragas or among Siddhas or among excellent Kinnaras or among Patatris Suparnas or among all living beings at all places and at all times.
vrm.5.51 "O king of Rakshasas! Devas, Daityas, Gandharvas, Vidyadharas, Nagas, Yakshas, all of them are not able to stand before Rama the lord of the three worlds.
vrm.5.54 Seeing that city of Lanka burnt there, Devas, Siddhas and great sages along with Gandharvas, got a colossal surprise.
vrm.5.54 There, all the Devas, Sages, Gandharvas, Vidyadharas, Nagas, Yakshas, the Bhutas and all great living beings attained a great joy.
vrm.5.56 The mountain was endowed with many cascades, crowded together with heaps of rocks and frequented by great sages, Yakshas, Gandharvas, Kinnaras and Uragas.

vrm.5.58 "Then, treading upon the path of the sky, frequented by the Wind, the Moon, the Sun, Siddhas and Gandharvas, I saw you all here.
vrm.5.59 How much more, the Rakshasas in battle? Tell me any one who can fight against Mainda or Dvivida, among Gandharvas or Uragas or Pakshis the birds or the Devas, Asuras or Yakshas.
vrm.5.67 "O Rama! Why are you not employing the same type of a missile on the Rakshasas, though you are the foremost among the wielders of missiles, though courageous and possessed of good disposition?" "Neither the Nagas nor even Gandharvas nor the Asuras nor the troop of Maruts, nor all of them joined together are capable of fighting with Rama.
vrm.6.1 Who can return alive, having entered once taking refuge only in self command, the city of Lanka, which is unconquerable by Devas, Asuras and Yakshas and even by Gandharvas, Nagas and Rakshasas and well under the custody of Ravana?
vrm.6.8 All Gods, Rakshasas, Gandharvas, Pisachas, Suparnas and Nagas can be attacked by you in battle.
vrm.6.10 The palace was like an abode of Gandharvas and of Maruts filled with a collection of jewels resembling a house of Nagas.
vrm.6.14 We do not have fear from Yakshas or Gandharvas or eminent Nagas or from Suparnas and Uragas on the field of battle.
vrm.6.19 O, prince! Because of a special boon given by Brahma Ravana can not be killed by all beings, Gandharvas, Nagas and Suparnas.
vrm.6.20 It cannot be acquired even by Devas and Gandharvas, why to talk about men and Vanaras?
vrm.6.22 With a desire to behold that marvel,Devas along with Gandharvas, Siddhas and great sages came then and stood up in the sky.
vrm.6.22 The Devas and Gandharvas, saw Nalas bridge, having a width of Ten Yojanas and a length of Hundred Yojanas and which was very difficult to be built.
vrm.6.24 Hearing the words of Shuka, Ravana with his eyes becoming blood red in anger, as if he would consume him with his glance, said as follows: Even if I were frightened by all the worlds or even if I were to face a battle with Devas, Gandharvas or Danavas, I would not give back Seetha.
vrm.6.26 "I do not give Seetha even if the Devas, Gandharvas or Danavas attack me or even if there is a terror from all the worlds.
vrm.6.28 These Vanaras, the attendants of Sugreeva born of Devas and Gandharvas, are able to change their form at will and always stay in Kishkindha.
vrm.6.30 I will not give away Seetha even if the Devas or Gandharvas or the Danavas were to fight against me or even under danger from all beings.
vrm.6.35 "All the Devas, sages and Gandharvas are wishing for victory of Rama.
vrm.6.35 "You received a boon of invincibility from Devas, Rakshasas and Gandharvas, but then are men, Rikshas as well as powerful and very efficacious having strong prowess who are coming hither, roaring like Lions.
vrm.6.37 "Observe this city of Lanka, ruled by Ravana, impregnable both to Devas and Asuras together, or the Uragas and Gandharvas.
vrm.6.41 Calling to his mind the duty of the kings, Rama who was eager to undertake what was to be done next, in concurrence with Vibhishana, summoned Angada the son of Vali and spoke as follows: Go my gentle Angada on my behalf and, passing thought the city of Lanka without fear and anxiety and Lanka without fear and anxiety and approaching Ravana the unfortunate Rakshasa devoid of sovereignty and who has lost his splendour because of his inclination to die admonish him in the following words: O, Ravana the Ranger of the Night! In your reckless arrogance, sages, Devas, Gandharvas, Apsaras, Nagas, Yakshas and kings have been oppressed by you.
vrm.6.41 Now, I shall uproot you, a thorn to sages and an enemy to Devas, Danavas, Yakshas, Gandharvas, Uragas and Rakshasas.
vrm.6.50 "Even the most valiant Asuras or the exceedingly strong Vanaras or the Devas together with the Gandharvas having Devendra in their forefront are unable to untie this awfully terrific entanglement of arrows created through his power of sorcery by Indrajit of terrific deeds.
vrm.6.59 Approaching his chariot, the sagacious Hanuma lifted his right arm and spoke the following threatening words to Ravana: You have obtained the boon of invulnerability to the Devas, Danavas, Gandharvas, Rakshasas and Yakshas.
vrm.6.60 "I sought immunity from death at the hands of Devas, Danavas and Gandharvas, Yakshas, Rakshasas and Pannagas, but of man I made no mention.
vrm.6.61 "O Rama! He conquered thousands of Devas, Danavas, Yakshas, Bhujangas, Pishitashanas raw flesh eaters, Gandharvas, Vidyadharas and Pannagas in battle.
vrm.6.65 Taking hold of that large spike tinted with the blood of enemies, shining like Indra s thunderbolt and equally heavy, capable of tormenting Devas, Danavas, Gandharvas, Yakshas and Nagas, wreathed in garlands of crimson flowers with excessive splendour and emitting flames by itself naturally, Kumbhakarna of great brilliance spoke to Ravana the following words: "Let this large army stay back here.
vrm.6.67 Then, Devarshis, great Sages Pannagas, Devas, Bhutas, Suparnas Guhyakas, including troops of Yakshas and Gandharvas standing in the sky, were rejoiced at Rama s prowess.
vrm.6.69 All were such as had never been heard of having been conquered by Devas or Gandharvas or Kinnaras or great Uragas while encountering a battle.
vrm.6.72 That terrific bind of arrow cannot be released by any Sura or a mighty Asura or by Yakshas or Gandharvas or Pannagas.
vrm.6.74 From that mountain, Hanuma then ascended Mount Malaya, appearing as Mounts Meru and Mandara, filled with several kinds of cascades, full of many trees and creepers, having Kamala and Utpala lotuses blooming, visited by Devas and Gandharvas, having a height of Sixty Yojanas four hundred eighty miles, frequented by Vidyadharas, a number of sages and Apsaras, filled with various kinds of animal troupes and illuminated by many caves, Hanuma grew his body, appearing like a cloud, bewildering Yakshas, Gandharvas and Kinnaras.
vrm.6.77 The sky above appeared whirled around in the toss of Nikumbha s club, as though Alaka the City with the palaces of Gandharvas performed rapid revolutions and the moon and the stars and the planets joining the rotating race.
vrm.6.79 With an intent to see that wonderful battle, all the Devas, Danavas, Gandharvas, Kinnaras and great Uragas reached the sky.
vrm.6.89 Those great sages proclaimed, "May it be well for the three worlds!" The frightened Gandharvas along with Charanas, arrived there to see tha battle field.
vrm.6.90 Placing Indra as their head, the Sages, Pitris, Devas, Gandharvas, Garudas and Uragas protected Lakshmana in the battle field.
vrm.6.90 Then, a shout of victory rose in the sky from the mouth of Gods, great souled sages, Gandharvas and Apsaras.
vrm.6.90 In the sky too was heard the sound of large drums played by Devas, the melody produced by dancing Apsaras and the songs of Gandharvas.
vrm.6.90 The gratified the Devas, Gandharvas and the Danavas said: Let the Brahmanas move about cheerfully, now that their trouble has ceased.
vrm.6.93 Having been thrown into confusion by the great mystic missile presided over by the Gandharvas, those Rakshasas were unable to see Rama, even when he was scorching away their army.
vrm.6.93 Then, the Devas along with Gandharvas, Siddhas and great sages acclaimed that feat of Rama, saying "well done, well done!".
vrm.6.94 "Neither the Devas nor Gandharvas nor the Pisachas nor the Rakshasas are able to protect Ravana, who is about to attack Rama in battle.
vrm.6.100 The glorious Rama, the foremost among the knower in the use of excellent missiles and who was endowed with extra ordinary splendour, struck down that missile with an excellent missile presided over by Gandharvas.
vrm.6.100 "Let the three worlds including Gandharvas, the Devas, the sages and the Charanas see today the Ramahood of Rama during the course of my battle.
vrm.6.102 The Devas, Gandharvas and Kinnaras thought that the battle was not equal between Rama standing on the ground and Ravana fighting from a chariot.
vrm.6.102 That Rama, who was skilled in the use of great missiles, struck the missile presided over by Gandharvas and the missile presided over by Gods, by means of missiles of the same type.
vrm.6.102 Seeing Rama afflicted, the Devas, Gandharvas, Charanas along with the Danavas, as also Siddhas and the great sages felt dejected.
vrm.6.102 Seated in their Vimanas aerial cars, Devas, Gandharvas, Uragas, the Sages, the Danavas and Daityas and those Garudas remaining in the air, saw then the battle of two heroes, fighting steadily with various dreadful weapons and looking like the final dissolution of the world.
vrm.6.106 Then, the Devas along with the Gandharvas, Siddha and great Sages, desirous of Ravanas ruin, arrived to see the battle of both the chariot warrriors.
vrm.6.107 Then, the Devas along with Gandharvas, Siddhas, great Sages and all including Kinnaras and Uragas became disquieted.
vrm.6.107 Seeing that matchless struggle and observing that the sky is its own compeer and the ocean is its own analogue, the battle between Rama and Ravana can be likened only to the battle between Rama and Ravana, the hosts of Gandharvas and Apsaras, looked on that battle between Rama and Ravana.
vrm.6.111 "Because of fear from you, eminent sages, illustrious Gandharvas and the Charanas indeed fled in all directions.
vrm.6.112 Having seen the destruction of Ravana, those Devas, Gandharvas and Danavas, while chatting about the auspicious narrative, went away in their respective Vimanas aerial cars.
vrm.6.116 The sages, Gods, and the Gandharvas saw that illustrious Seetha entering deep into the fire as a sacred oblation of clarified butter.
vrm.6.116 The denizens of the entire three worlds including the Gods, Gandharvas and Rakshasas, beheld her falling into the fire, like a goddess, subjected to a curse, falling from heaven to hell.
vrm.6.117 "O Rama! You appear as a great Uraga, in water, at the earth s bottom, bearing the three worlds, Devas, Gandharvas, and the Danavas.
vrm.6.128 On that occasion of the coronation ceremony of the intelligent Rama, who was well deserving it, the Devas and Gandharvas gracefully sang and troupes of Apsaras danced.
vrm.7.3 And hymned by hosts of deities and Gandharvas, having his mansion graced with the dancing of Apsaras, and floating on rays like the sun himself, that ruler of riches went to his sire.
vrm.7.5 The Devas, the Rishis, Yakshas, Gandharvas, Daityas and Danavas were all started to suffer oppression at their hands and ran away in grate confusion.
vrm.7.6 And hymned by Siddhas and Devas and sages and mighty semi divine Nagas and Gandharvas and Yakshas, the enemy of the Asura hosts presented himself, bearing in his hands the discus, sword, that weapon Sarnga and the conch.
vrm.7.11 And coming there frequently, Devas with Gandharvas and Apsaras and Nagas and Kinnaras, ever spot there.
vrm.7.12 And Vibhishana obtained for his wife the righteousdamsel named Sarama daughter unto the high souled Sailusha sovereign of the Gandharvas.
vrm.7.12 Having thus wedded, those Rakshasas, taking each his wife, set about sporting there, like unto Gandharvas sporting in Nandana.
vrm.7.13 And while Kumbhakarna was overpowered by sleep, Dasanana without let began to destroy Devarshis, Yakshas and Gandharvas, and going to graceful gardens, Nandana, etc, he devastated them ruthlessly.
vrm.7.15 And then the Devas and the Gandharvas and the sages studying the Vedas, beholding the great encounter, were filled with mighty amazement.
vrm.7.16 And the lordly Nandi, undaunted, addressed the sovereign of the Rakshasas, saying Desist thou O Ten necked one Sankara; spoteth in the mountain ;and now He is incapable of being approached by every one Suparnas, Nagas and Yakshas Devas;, Gandharvas and Rakshas Hearing Nandi s speech, Ravana, wrought up with wrath, his eyes coppery, and his ear rings shaking, leapt down from Pushpaka.
vrm.7.16 I have already obtained a boon, bestowing on me immunity from death at the hands of Devas, Gandharvas and Danavas; and Rakshasas and Guhyakas and Nagas; and others also that are of more than oridinary strength.
vrm.7.17 And while that high sould one was engaged in the daily study of the Vedas, I was born as his word impregnated daughter, named Vedavati When the gods and the Gandharvas and the Yakshas, Rakshasas, and Pannagas, coming to my sire asked for me, O foremost of Rakshasas, my father did not bestow me on any one of them.
vrm.7.20 And even as Vishnu had pleased me by destroying the Daityas, thou pleased me by harassing the Gandharvas and Nagas.
vrm.7.20 The world of man is unworthy of being afflicted by thee who at incapable of being destroyed by Devas, Danavas Daityas, Yakshas, Gandharvas and Rakshas.
vrm.7.20 Thus addressed Lanka s lord, flaming in native energy, addressed Narada, laughing and saluting him, O thou that delightest in the sport of Devas and Gandharvas, and that takest pleasure in warfare, I am ready to go to the nethermost regions for the purpose of conquest.
vrm.7.21 And, why, O thou honored of Devas, and Gandharvas, dost thou come Thereat the reverened sage, Narada, said ;Hearken.
vrm.7.22 And Devas and Gandharvas and Siddhas, and the supreme saints, placing Prajapati at their head, presented themselves at the fight.
vrm.7.22 Hiranyakasipu, the gracaful Namuchi, and Shamvara, Nishandi and Dhumketu and Virochana s ofspring Vali, and the Daitya Shamvu that mighty monarchs, Vritra and Bana ;and Rajarshis versed in all branches of learnings and Gandharvas, and mighty Nagas, and Sages, and Pannagas and Yakshas, and swarms of Apsaras and the Earth herself containing vasty oceans and mountains and rivers and trees, at the unrolling of a Yuga all these, O mighty monarch have I brought to dissolution.

vrm.7.29 And wept there in the chariot, hundreds of the females of Nagas, Gandharvas, of great ascetics, Daityas and of Danavas.
vrm.7.33 And the Gandharvas began to play on various instruments and the Apsaras began to dance.
vrm.7.36 The mountain had a thousand summits and the Lions were residing in the caves and hundreds of fountain were falling from it; the mountain was as if laughing aloud and the Devas, Gandharvas, Apsaras and Kinnaras were sporting there with their females; and it appeared in consequence thereof like the region of Devas; and rivers, with waters transparent like crystal, were lowing.
vrm.7.40 Thereupon the afflicted Devas, Gandharvas, Asuras and men repaired to the Patriarch Brahma with a view to bring about the well being of created beings.
vrm.7.40 If we do not please the son of Aditi we shall all meet with destruction," Thereupon the Patriarch Brahma, the Devas, Gandharvas, Nagas, Guhyakas and other created beings went where the wind was waiting with his own son belaboured by the king of the Devas.
vrm.7.40 Thereupon beholding that boy, on the lap of the Vayu, resembling gold and Vaishvanara, the four mouthed Brahma, the Devas, Gandharvas, Rishis, Yakshas and Rakshasas were all moved with pity.
vrm.7.45 the highly effulgent one narrated onto me the last portion of this story in the presence of the Devas, Gandharvas, Siddhas, ascetics and other great O lord of kings, O conferrer of honors, do thou listen to that story which removeth monstrous iniquity.
vrm.7.60 Even that Rama, who, when enraged, is capable of slaying the Devas, Gandharvas, Asuras and Rakshasas, hath been engaged in the worship of destiny.
vrm.7.82 And that hero falling there arose a terrible uproar amongst the Rishis, Devas, Gandharvas and Apsaras.
vrm.7.82 What more, being disturbed, the Devas, Asuras, Gandharvas, saints and Apsaras and all other creatures of the world approached the Great Patriarch, the conferrer of boons and said: "The fear of the Devas and the destruction of the creatures hath arrived.
vrm.7.100 O descendant of Raghu, being terrified, the generous Devas, the rich Daityas, the highly powerful Nagas, the irrepressible Rakshasas, Gandharvas and Yakshas used to adore him perpetually.
vrm.7.107 Thereupon taking leave from business for some time and inviting the great ascetic Valmiki, kings, learned men, persons well versed in Nyaya, Puranas and science of words, all old men, twice born ones, those conversant with the signs of music, Brahmanas desirous of hearing the Ramayana, persons deep read in palmistry, Gandharvas, citizens, all those who have mastered the use of words, letters and Samasas, those who have studied well metres, those well informed in the science of music, those well versed in astronomy, those who are well up in the knowledge of rites and ceremonies, those expert in the despatch of business, logicians whose fame has spread far and wide, those well versed in reasonings and arguments, poets, historians, Vedic Brahmanas, painters, and songsters Rama resquested Lava and Kusa lovingly to sing the song before the assembly.

vrm.7.113 O hero, those Gandharvas are Sailuska s sons highly powerful and three kotis in number.
vrm.7.113 Having hoisted thy flag of victory and conquered that highly picturesque city of Gandharvas do thou include that kingdom within thine well established territories.
vrm.7.113 Being well protected by uncle Yudhajit and preceded by Bharata with army and followers they shall subjugate the Gandharvas and divide the kingdom between them.
vrm.7.114 And with a huge army they speedily went out for conquering the Gandharvas.
vrm.7.114 Thereupon the highly powerful and light armed Bharata and Yudhajit, with the soldiers and followers, arrived at the city of Gandharvas.
vrm.7.114 Having heard of the coming of Bharata the highly powerful Gandharvas gathered round and sent up leonine roars.
vrm.7.114 Thereupon enraged Bharata, Rama s younger brother, discharged a dreadful arrow named Sangharata resembling the fire of dissolution against Gandharvas.
vrm.7.114 Having bound them all with the noose of death and sundered them with Sangharata, Bharata despatched all the Gandharvas to the abode of death.
