King Kuru

King Kuru was the founder king who established the Kuru dynasty in ancient India. He lived as an ascetic at Kurukshetra. The people installed him at the throne of Hastinapura. So he was an elected king. Mahabharata mentions the king Kuru to be belonging to the Bharata dynasty.
